Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche is located south of Limoges, on the border between Corrèze and Haute-Vienne, and is a gateway town to the Limousin-Périgord Regional Nature Park. It also has a « Plus Beaux Détours de France » (France’s finest detours) label. Its small medieval streets lead to Moustier collegiate church, which is home to the relics of Arédius, the town’s founder. St Yrieix specialties include madeleines and cul noir gourmet pork. Don’t miss Villa Sport aquarecreational centre and its range of activitites Our Tourist Office organizes fun family guided tours durning summertime and also invites visitors to discover other towns in the area : Glandon, Le Chalard, Coussac-Bonneval, Ladignac-le-Long, La Meyze, La Roche-l’Abeille and Ségur-le-Château.
Saint-Yrieix is also an "Ostensions" town. Ostensions are a popular and religious tradition that date back to the 10th century. These processions and festivities take place every 7 years in towns throughout Limousin and go on for several months. The next ones will take place in 2016.
