Limousin Aquarium

Limoges Aquarium is situated in an architectural setting unique in France: a former underground and vaulted water reservoir belonging to the town of Limoges. It was built under Napoleon III in order to keep the town from possible cholera epidemics. Here, you can discover one of the largest presentation of species in France.

Limousin Aquarium is well known as one of the richest public aquariums through the diversity of its aquatic animals.

You can observe indigenous fish (carp, perch, sturgeon, catfish…), but also animals from lakes and rivers from around the world (electric fish, shark fish, piranhas, discus, crocodile fish…), without forgetting the marvellous marine world with its multitude of colours and shapes each more astonishing than the last (moray eels, seahorses, starfish, sea urchins, lionfish, scorpion fish...).

This wide variety means a truly enriching visit.
