Limoges porcelain revealed, episode 2
We invite you to continue on our introduction to porcelain by meeting the men and women who make porcelain today. You can consult the portraits of these porcelain makers all year round in our e-mag.
With the Limoges in Haute-Vienne porcelain road network, we want to promote an accessible tourist offer, representing quality and rooted in its territory and its history. Thus, the members of the network are committed to selling products made and decorated in the Haute-Vienne.
See the network's 22 porcelain makers.
In episode 2, we're taking you to the Four des Casseaux to meet Thomas Hirat, a Limoges inhabitant passionate about the history of porcelain.
He'll tell you the story of the industrialisation of porcelain in the 18th and 19th centuries and how porcelain was established and developed in Limoges, notably in the Casseaux quarter on the banks of the Vienne.
