Moulin du Got at Saint-Léonard de Noblat

Witness to the Limousin paper industry in the 18th century, Moulin du Got was built at the beginning of the 16th century and was in production until 1954.

Today, Moulin du Got offers visitors a discovery of the rebirth of these workshops. From the creation of a sheet of paper up to printing on it, participate in all the stages. Regular exhibitions.

Moulin du Got is more than a living museum: it's a real demonstration of production, educational activities and artistic creations showing that paper is more than just lines on a page.

Last paper mill in activity in the Limousin, Moulin du Got is situated in Saint-Léonard de Noblat, a town listed as world Heritage by UNESCO with respect to the Roads to Santiago De Compostela.

Visitors can discover the evolution of paper- making techniques and the graphic arts. Starting with handmade paper up to the first continuous paper machine, typesetting with movable type up to automatic presses, Moulin du Got is more than a living museum: it's a real demonstration of production, educational activities and creative programmes open to artists.
