Châlucet Fortress
The mediaeval fortress of Châlucet is one of the major heritage sites of the Limousin built on the summit and slopes of a rocky outcrop. Two fortifications: lower Châlucet is the oldest (12th – 16th century) with the famous "Jeannette Tower" and higher Châlucet (13th century) both a military establishment and a luxurious residence; dismantled by the Consuls of Limoges at the end of the 16th century; one of the most beautiful ruins in France; excavations and consolidation work in progress.

Ligoure nature site
Châlucet fortress and the adjacent park of Ligoure are of great landscape, botanical and ornithological interest. The 40-hectare, forested park of the Ligoure estate is situated at the confluence of the River Ligoure and the Gabie stream near the town of Saint-Jean-Ligoure. It's part of a larger, 400-hectare estate created by Frédéric Le Play in the second half of the 19th century.
The Ligoure forest interpretation trail: a pedagogical resource
The educational panels, set up along the whole trail, describe the historical, patrimonial and natural wealth of the places: each of the 10 stations that make up the trail are an opportunity to learn about the notable points of the site with clear and illustrated information.
