Hall of frescoes at the Contemporary Art Departmental Museum of Rochechouart

Overlooking the valley of the Seed and Vayres, Rochechouart castle houses the Prefectural Museum of Contemporary Art of Rochechouart since 1985. The landscape, history and imagination are the three themes that have chaired the creation of this institution by the county Council of Haute-Vienne. In a striking building of the fifteenth century, the dialogue between heritage and creativity enabled the creation of a collection of challenging contemporary art and the realization of specific works instead. In 1989, with the constitution of the fund Raoul Hausmann (strong 600 works, and many archives) the Museum has found with the famous Dadaist his father figure. The most famous room is certainly the room frescoes.
