Shepherd hut of Volondat

These small buildings are built of dry stone without any bindings such as mortar or cement using a building technique which hasn't changed in the course of thousands of years. Built from local granite these buildings were very much a part of local life and offered temporary shelter for a shepherd. Most of these shepherds' huts date from the middle of the 19th century.
